Review CT symposium and statements

» As the bar of the Face Off was very high, several major brands threw in the towel by not showing up.
As a user of OsiriX PRO I was very anxious to see the comparison with the larger brands, and was not disappointed at all by OsiriX PRO’s performance: a convincing performance, precise and reproducible results. The only performance to receive applause.
Due to its intuitive design, one can use OsiriX PRO very easily without the need to go through large manuals. «

» The outstanding performance of aycan at the workstation Face Off in Garmisch-Partenkirchen is reflective of our long partnership. Excellent products with an unbeatable service. «

» aycan presented a refined gourmet menu with a fresh breeze of humor by the chef himself compared to the generic bland cafeteria food of the others. Bravo to aycan for this masterpiece in performance. All this without the shock of the usually expensive bill. «

This year's International CT symposium took place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, from January 11th through January 14th. High ranked experts and national and international well known speakers spoke about the technological development of computer tomography in regards to clinical indication and relevant improvements over the last few years.
aycan and three other companies, GE, Siemens, and Vital Images participated in this year's Face Off, which was moderated by PD Dr. A. Graser and Professor H.-C. Becker from the Institute of Clinical Radiology at the University of Munich. Participating for the first time, aycan, using its workstation OsiriX PRO, performed extremely well keeping pace with its major industry participants and at times even outperforming them.
There were two different complex viewings to be performed, one of a CTA of an Aorta stent patient with an endoleak and a bypass, and the other, an oncological case of a patient with multiple Lymphomas.
In the fist case, the presentor had to, within five minutes, conduct a volumetric rendering of the Aneurysm sacks at two different studies followed by the challenging display of the endoleaks with a dynamic multiphase CT-Series of 5,404 images. The bypass was shown in a Curved MPR and in volume rendering mode at the end of the first case task.
The second oncological case, was much more challenging than the first case, pushing the systems to their limits. Besides the volumetric rendering of a Lymphoma in two periods of time and the comparison of the SUVmax values, a Lymphoma staging (Cheson staging) in three different periods of time had to be shown. The six minute long presentation was finished with the handling of three PET-CT studies, including synchronization, and registration.
