How fast is your PACS? This question was closely looked at by Apple Inc.
and the results are published in their White Paper called "Transforming
the Medical Imaging Workflow." In their study, Apple tested various
systems including those from large well known companies. The task was a
DICOM retrieval of a CT-study with 2,880 images (1.5 GB) over a Gigabit
